What is Berkeley Measure GG?

Measure GG is the most transformative and exciting climate policy in the United States to phase out dirty and dangerous methane (natural) gas.

Measure GG is a citizens’ ballot initiative to help speed up climate action in Berkeley by taxing big polluters and redirecting those funds to businesses and residents who want to electrify their buildings with green upgrades (e.g, heat pumps, solar, and battery storage).

GG would generate an average of $15,000 in low-cost/free green upgrades per household, enough to electrify almost the entire Berkeley low-rise residential building stock.
